Finishing up my undergraduate degree is taking a lot of my time, but I'm also working with the 2007 FMARS crew (I'm an alternate/mission support/radiation research lead). So check that out for what they're up to. I've seen some pictures from the advance crew that's up there already, and that area is BEAUTIFUL. And then, this summer, I'm trying to take it easy, so there will be some work here (for real, this time!).

February 27, 2007

Been a while, but I'm going to try to do more with this. Newest addition is a picture page. It links to the albums on my Facebook account. I've been really, really busy working on stuff with the Mars Society. Especially my very own Crew 60!!

December 23, 2005

Science section is UP!! I'm so proud of myself. :) Also edited the stylesheet some and played with the links page. I'm quite happy with what I'm getting done. There's not a whole lot up on the science page, but the framework is there for me to add stuff as I feel like it. This makes me happy. I'll probably putz around some more over the break. I'm being so amazingly productive this year. I cleaned my room (and discovered that there was a desk and carpet under the remarkable piles of junk), wrote some emails relating to Crew 47 to the Mars Desert Research Station, and deliberately left my Playstation in Atlanta so I would get some of my makeup work done while I'm in Marietta for Christmas. :D Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Happy Everything-else-that-I-either-forgot-or-can't-spell!!

December 22, 2005

Yeah, was really sick for a while, but I'm doing much better and taking it easy and enjoying my winter break. I've updated the bio page - the title bar now contains pictures (the one that was up there before and two newer ones - one from last fall [2004] and one from this fall [2005]). And I edited the stylesheet a bit so that the main portion of any page won't be smaller than 750 pixels because that's the size of the bio banner and I don't want it sticking off the edge and looking funky. No progress on the science section yet because my brain just wasn't working well at all with the being sick. But I still plan to do it. And, of course, I'll post here when it's up. Also, I'm working on some short stories that'll be posted. :) And what was finished of NaNo05 before I got sick.

November 16, 2005

Am miserably sick, so I took the opportunity to putz around some here. I updated a little on the "About me" page and updated my library page, although I didn't include all of the books that actually belong to my parents that I've borrowed. I'm planning to get a science section (primarily focused on nuclear power and engineering) up soon because activists and politicians making claims that are flat out wrong keep upsetting me, so I'm taking it upon myself to educate however many people I can. :)

October 15, 2005

Have recently discovered the concept of fanlistings, and have subsequently joined a metric bazillion. Links have been added on the *gasp* links page. I swear I'm going to update more soon. But my probability and statistics class is trying to eat me (as, ironically, compared to my RADIATION PHYSICS class, which is basically quantum mechanics at 8 in the morning, which I'm actually enjoying and doing well in. *siiigh*). Anyway, getting geared up for NaNoWriMo this year. Am considering amending my idea to exclude the proprietary stuff that would prevent me from posting it here. Wouldn't affect things too much, I don't think.

Life hasn't slowed down, but I'm going to be adding some more stuff shortly. There's just so much freakin' stuff to do all the time, and I've been volunteering with the Katrina relief.

August 12, 2005

Will be adding some major updates shortly. Probably once fall classes start and I, ironically, have some more time. Life's been hectic. Just presented at the 2005 Mars Society Conference, and finished finals just before that.

June 10, 2005

Doing some more work...The Stingray Nebula in the upper left is courtesy of Doug Snyder (link is on my links page), although it's been slightly edited to add the stars - it originally had a black backround. I'm having fun, getting back into webdesign. Hopefully I'll have some more nifty stuff up soon.

June 9, 2005

I'm going to start working on this again, and I was wondering if there was anything people that read this page wanted to see. I'm going to update my library, and hopefully start getting some random science-ish stuff up. I've got a few ideas of stuff that I'd like to put up, space and nuclear energy-related. And maybe some math, just to have some fun. I've found that I'm pretty good at explaining stuff, so maybe this will help someone, somewhere. Anyway, send me an email and let me know what you'd like to see added and/or moved from my old webpage.

Complete revamp! Bought a domain name and I'm completely switching from the water ferret to...the space ferret! As Michael pointed out, I'm going from water to space and completely bypassing land entirely. It's going to take me a little while to get everything going, but hopefully it'll be up and running soon.

March 2, 2005

OK, made some changes to the books page. More to come.

March 1, 2005

Ok, I promise I'm going to do something with this soon. Really. Except my router and my laptop are having a fight, which makes things more difficult...

December 26, 2004

Been doing a lot with this page, and I'm really liking how it's turning out. I'm also getting a much better grasp on CSS. The Elizabeth Moon summaries are up, soon to be followed by Melanie Rawn's Dragon Prince and Neil Gaimon's Stardust. Also have a links page now, since I need to give credit for both some of my images and my background which come from GRSites.com, which is the most awesome reference EVER. And, come to think about it, the font I use for the titles. So anyway, links are all up now.

December 21, 2004

Ok, my CS Lab 5 is no longer up. It didn't work right and it was taking up space (I hadn't really done much with the images to make them smaller), so it's gone now. Not that I think anyone cares. Next project - adding a books section. There, I'm going to put up summaries of books I read, as well as thoughts. I'm doing this less for the benefit of others and more for the benefit of me - I always forget what happened in a book about a week after I finish. This way I can just read the summary and go "oh, yeah!" The first book will be Elizabeth Moon's The Deed of Paksenarrion, which I just finished and really liked. I'll have the Mercedes Lackey stuff just linked off the books page instead of off the main page as well. After I get the books section up, I'll probably start getting my lyrics stuff moved over here from angelfire.

December 1, 2004

I mentioned this in my livejournal - I had to re-evaluate my goal and bring it down to 25,000. But I was able to finish! I swear I'll update this site over the break, get some of the lyrics up and whatnot.
EDIT (12-21-04): I took down the thingy that was here with my final wordcount. It unvalidated the site and all I could do was make it look funny, couldn't figure out the problem. So it's gone.

November 16, 2004

So I'm slightly ashamed of my word count. But I'm counting on catching up this weekend at the meet-up in Kennesaw and over Thanksgiving. I have to post something else on this page for a CS lab. The pictures are all from my trip to France over the summer, from various châteaux. For some reason, it's squishing the images and then leaving blank space at the bottom. o.O Computers hate me. :( But anyway:
EDIT (12-21-04): Gone also. Stupid center tags.

November 1, 2004

NaNo has started and life is hectic, so I won't be doing a whole lot here, but the meter showing my NaNo progress should be posted. If you feel like it, harass me about my word count!!

NaNoWriMo Progress Meter

October 9, 2004

Whoohoo! Added the Mercedes Lackey page and my NaNo participant button. Working from my new laptop which I love dearly! Hanging out at Phi Kap and helping out with Extra Life for Kids for the weekend (see link to the left). Going well so far...LOTS of computers and consoles going...there are 6 wandering through Final Fantasy XI as a party, which is amusing to watch. We're 5.5 hours in, only 30.5 to go! :P

September 28, 2004

I got the biography page up yesterday, as well as the link to the Mars Society. Today, I've fixed everything so that the site validates in both XHTML 1.0 (Transitional) and CSS. Whoohoo!!! If only Matlab were this easy...I don't think like a CS person, which is probably my problem. I think of odd ways to do things which isn't usually what they're trying to get me to do. Take the assignment due Thursday, for instance. It wants me to iterate. But I don't *need* to iterate. *sigh*.

September 25, 2004

The new Home of the Water Ferret is now up and running! I think I've finally got it all figured out, I just need to start transferring files and fiddling around with it to make it finally look exactly the way I want. I have been successful in eliminating the frames (whee!), but that means I have to alter the source of all of my pages to include the menu (which is being stored in a separate file and then being added by the server. Pretty nifty.) and also update the HTML to XHTML. This thing will validate if it kills me! So anyway. I'll post here as I get things updated and added to this site.
